Gwinnett Medical Center volunteers greet with a smile, give a helping hand and sacrifice their time to ensure the needs of patients, visitors and employees are met. Our Auxiliary is a vital part of the team that makes Gwinnett Medical Center the hospital it is today. In 2008, the Auxiliary (or volunteers) at GMC had nearly 40,000 hours of service, a value of approximately $640,000.
Not only do they give of their time and talents, but they also contribute financially to support the GMC Foundation. Since 1984, the Auxiliary has donated more than $1 million to various projects throughout the hospital. Once again they have joined the vision of the hospital and committed $150,000 to support an open heart surgery program.
“Supporting the hospital is good for all of us,” says Carol Bullock, GMC Auxiliary member. “We should do whatever we can to ensure we have excellent healthcare available. This is a very exciting time for GMC, and the new facilities, renovations and the anticipated heart surgery program guarantee continuing opportunities for growth and expanded services.”
